Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), and is cultivated inSouthAmerica and the West Indies. It has originated in the central hills of Sri Lanka. In India, it is grown in one or two locations in Kerala. The spice, consistingof the dried inner bark, is brown in colour and has a delicately fragrant aromaanda warm sweet flavour.
